Why does my budgie hate it when I play a musical instrument?

Hi everyone, whenever I practice playing my viola or guitar my budgie who is approximately 3 or 4 months old starts making a sort of angry noise at me and won’t stop until I stop. I covered the cage with a sheet and that seemed to help but I was wondering why he does it?
